1.4.1 Common operations

When you choose any of the client related menus from the VSM Clients you will see a panel with the list of the accounts and some additional elements. On the left side there is a New button which allows for creating client accounts manually or to import accounts from a file. Import is supported only for the basic types.

On the right is a search control which by default allows for searching accounts by logins. Clicking on the arrow button next to it a new area shows up with several input fields letting us to run more complex queries.  Either you want to work on a particular account or on a set you need to get them as a result of a search query which will be presented in a table.

If you want to edit a single account click on its row in the table to open the edit view which comprises various settings grouped in tabs.  For bulk operations you will find other options under the More button. Its content depends on the clients’ type. The common actions across all types are Delete and Activate/Deactivate . The actions are applied to selected records. Click on checkboxes in the leftmost column or if you wish to select all the records (the result of the search query) check the checkbox on the header row.

The settings icon under the table, on the left side, allows to select which of the columns should be visible. You can also sort the data in each column and even change the order of the columns by clicking on its header and moving to the new location in the table.

Clicking on a particular row opens the client account view. This view will differ among the four client types. Even though the first two tabs General and Profile appear in all types only the Profile comprises the same data.
