1.4.11 Bulk generation

With Bulk generator you can generate a number of retail type client accounts with predefined settings. All generated clients are assigned to a lot.

The list of all lots along with information on the number of all clients and the number of active clients is presented in the main panel of the Bulk generator menu.

The edit panel of a particular lot (after clicking on a row in the list) shows its properties which include:

Description – used only for managing

Reseller – allow to choose a reseller who will own the lot and all its accounts

Use time limits:

• expiration date - accounts will be deactivated on that date
•  Active time - the time, specified in days or months, after which an account will be deactivated, starting from the activation date;

To see the client accounts belonging to the lot click the name of the lot in the first column.

The accounts can be exported to a file by clicking More button in the lot’s edit view.

Note: Removing a lot will remove all clients belonging to it and also their personal data. This operation cannot be reversed.

Generation wizard

Clicking on the New button will open the lot generation wizard which consists of several screens allowing to specify the accounts’ properties. 

In the first step the description and client type has to be specified. Optionally a reseller's assignment can be chosen. If selected, a whole lot will be created under the reseller, so he will be able to manage the lot and its clients via the VSM reseller’s panel.

Next step enables setting up time limits like Activation date, Expiry date and Active time. It can be specified if the lot should be activated with the first use or on a specified date, how long it should remain active (after expiration time the lot will be deactivated) and how long all accounts under this lot should remain active for.

If the active time reaches beyond the expiry time limit the expiry time will be postponed; for example: if the expiry date has been set to 2017.03.31, active time to 20 days and the account has been activated on2017.03.20 it will not be deactivated after 11 days (as the expiry date determines) but this date will be postponed until 2017.04.09

Subsequent screen has two options related to generation of logins, passwords and serial numbers:

• Custom generation – the system will generate the login/passwords pairs along with corresponding serials based on the criteria chosen by you
• Import from a file – the credentials will be loaded from beforehand prepared text file

Custom generation

If custom generation has been selected, the next three stages will include rules for login, password and serial numbers generation.

You can define the number of characters for the login, its starting characters, required type of characters. If use numbers is ticked the sequential generation option will appear.

The Starting number will be attached to the starting characters (if set) and increased by the Step value. Remaining characters, from the Number of characters, will be filled with zeros. For example setting Number of characters to 8, Starting characters as "DON_",Starting number as "100" and Step as "2" will create logins like DON_0100, DON_0102, DON_0104 and so on.

With the Check button it can be verified if the logins that are about to be created do not exist in the database already.

Next two screens are dedicated to password and serial number generation. Settings are similar to the previous step.

Import from file

Instead of letting the system generate logins, passwords and serial numbers you can import them from a file. Selecting the File checkbox let you pick a text file and specify which variables should be used in the process.

 The format of the file has to be as in the example below: 

Account properties

Next screens contain configuration options of the retail type client. All accounts from the lot will be created with these properties.

For all clients created in a lot a particular tariff and currency can be set and initial funds can be added. If a reseller hasn't been chosen before, it can be done at this stage. The reseller will be able to manage his accounts using the VSM resellers’ panel but won't see the lot on his lots list.
Before choosing a tariff a currency has to be specified and afterwards a tariff can be selected according to the chosen currency. If a reseller was selected, the choice will be narrowed to his tariffs.

The next steps include the settings from the Advanced tab in the Retail client edit view.

Before the accounts are generated the Summary screen is shown with all the selections made during the process. If all is ok then click on Generate button to start the process. Depending on number of accounts to be created the process can take a while.
