1.6.6 Vouchers
Vouchers are codes (PINs) used for topping up client accounts. A client can enter the code in the user portal (VUP), in the softphones and through the IVR recharge scenarios (through an access number, for example in calling card services). The name pins and vouchers are used interchangeably further in the document.
Vouchers panel enables generating packs of the recharge pins. The list shows existing packs with their details such as name, creation date, unit value (value of one pin), number of pins and number of used pins.
You can export a pack or multiple packs by selecting them first and then clicking on More\Export menu. In a new dialog window a separator has to be chosen (by default a coma) which will be used to separate columns in the exported csv file. The generated file can be downloaded and used for example to print scratch cards with pins.
Adding pin pack
To create a new pack of pins click on the New button. Next, enter the pack name, number of vouchers to be generated, choose the currency and set the amount of a single pin.
In next step we need to specify how the pins are generated.
The most important is number of characters in a pin as this number determines the number of possible combination. The higher number of combination the lower chance that a pin will be guessed. In addition you can set a starting character which will be used in every pin. Pins can be built from numbers only, or letters either lower or uppercase or from combination of all or some of the types. You can define how by ticking on relevant checkboxes.
By default the vouchers are in the inactive state. To change to active you have to go to the edit view of the newly created pack.
Editing pin packs
Click on a particular pack in the list to go to the edit view which is divided on two tabs:
- Settings
- Vouchers
The first tab groups the basic information. Only name and amount can be changed.
The vouchers tab allows for managing the pins. The list there shows pins along with information such as the amount, serial and state.
Clicking on a particular voucher allows for changing its state. There are three states:
- Active
- Inactive
- Used
The used state is set by the system when a client tops up his account. Inactive state is set during pins generation for security reasons. It is recommended to activate the pins only when they are given for sale, for example when sending the packs of scratch cards to agents. To activate the pins in bulk select all pins and then click on More, then Change state action.
The same way you can also block active vouchers, for example if you did not receive payment from an agent you can set his packs to inactive.
