1.6.4 Packages
Packages allow a product to be offered to a customer at a reduced price if it is taken as part of a package.
A package can group following items:
- bundles
- DID numbers
- UC/PBX allowed number of users (seats)
A package object is similar to a plan, actually if DIDs and seats are not enabled the behavior will be same as of plan.
Managing packages is through the Billing\Packages menu.
Before settings up a package for a client type/tariff the correct bundle has to be connected to the tariff. If the tariff does not have any bundles no free minutes can be added, more details can be found under the pans setup: 1.6.3 Plans
Packages can be recurring or one time. For one time choose Not applicable from the Period drop down list. The bundles, tariff and other options are same as for Plans which was described in details in the dedicated chapter.
Different are two additional options namely DIDChannelsCount and PBXExtensionsCount.
DID Channels defines max number of allowed channels for inbound DID sip trunk. The DID price should be included in the price of the package.
PBX Users number defines how many users can belong to the main company PBX account.
Below is the explanation of the fields used in the package:
Name: Name of the Package
Description: Description of the Package
Period: The period for which the package is applicable
Amount/Initial Charge: Initial charge applied to the bundle
Periodic Charge: Periodic charge for renewing the bundle
User Charge: Additional cost per user over the use limit
Tariff: Tariff name for which the bundle is created
Bundles/Name: Name of the bundles connected to this Tariff
Balance: Amount of minutes for the particular bundle connected to this Package
Number of inbound DID limit: Number of free DID in the package [in VUC4 this option is defined in Registration.config - more details here: 6.5 Signup Page [VUC4]]
Number of subaccounts limit: Number of users/subaccount in the Package - 0 is unlimited amount of users
Packages are added to client accounts either manually from VSM or by the client himself from the portal (VUP) or softphones if that option is implemented.
To add from VSM go to Retail clients menu and there click on the Add button above the Products, packages and plans table.
When adding a package to client account the provider can choose the package and also set the initial charge.
Settings
The settings applicable for packages are the same as those configurable for Plans, described earlier.
