1.8.2 Inbound DIDs flow
Authentication
Incoming calls, either from a DID provider or a PSTN gateway have to be authenticated on voipswitch. To allow the calls, create a new account of wholesales client type and enter the IP address of the gateway. In the case of a DID provider it will be usually multiple IP addresses. It is also possible to authenticate by SIP login and password but the IP based authentication is most often the case as gateways usually are on static IP addresses.
Even though the account is required only for authenticating calls still as for all client accounts you need to assign a tariff, in this case however it can be a simple rate list comprising numbers from 1 to 9. The voice rate should be set to 0.
Name the client for example “DID gw”. Next you can test it by making a call from a PSTN network to one of the numbers from the pool. The call should appear on voipswitch monitor as coming from the wholesale client “DID gw” and the destination number as the dialed DID.
Routing
The routing mechanism is the same as for other type of traffic. A DID number has to be mapped directly to the client (retail or PBX/UC type). As the ordering process takes some other steps to be done the platform provides tools for adding and removing DIDs and they take care of creating proper entries in the routing plan. Therefore the DID related entries are not visible in the Routing/Routing plan menu. They are, instead, in the DIDs/Routing menu.
