1.11.4 One Stage
One stage is an IVR service similar to Calling Cards, but unlike the typical Calling Cards service - One stage is dedicated to clients of external carriers such as GSM or PSTN operators. One stage scenarios are used in case when a destination number is indicated directly by an originating carrier.
Setup
- The service requires one technical prefix, created on routing plan, assigned to VoipBox with selected one stage scenario. it's worth to create a prefix consisted of letters instead of numbers in order to prevent possible conflitcs on routing with calls sent to external gateways. It's also easier to identify the purpose of so-defined prefix. In this manual we will use a prefix 'os'
Interconnection with a source carrier
An originating carrier should be defined as a Wholesale client. In fact, this account, same as in case of a DID carrier, will not be used for billing purposes, therefore its tariff settings can be configured with the way that inbound calls originated from carrier will not be charged to the account, It can be done by creating a tariff with one prefix ie. 0 and forcing all calls to match this prefix by setting destination tariff manipulation like: !0 under advanced tab of carrier (wholesale client) account. Next, tick the option "Enable PIN authorization", add carrier IP and define Dialing rules in order to to force all traffic originated from carrier to be processed over One stage scenario
- Enduser account
On dialing and tariff rules of endusers account, the technical prefix should be removed as on the screen below.
- Despite the scenario name which contains the "PIN" element, in most cases, one stage service is configured to not interact with a customer. In other words, customers may not hear any IVR prompt while calls are processed and do not need to provide any PIN number to authorize their identity as if calls were sent directly from source carrier to destination point. In order to recognize a customer by source number, his Caller ID should be assigned to his account on "Authorized caller IDs" tab.
- After correct setup, calls initiated from a carrier should be processed by one stage scenario as on the screen below
- There are several scenarios belonging to one stage group which can be selected depending on carrier needs. For more information please visit Calling Cards and VoipBox manuals.
