1.12 Logs

VSM4 now provides the ability to view VoipSwitch web application logs directly on the VSM4 admin panel.

It is possible to view logs from  VSM4, VUP, VUC, OS, EMCI, and EMCD modules:

The name of the log consists of the module name followed by the date.

For example, a VUP log generated on February 2, 2024, will be named VUP.2024-02-02.log, while VSM4 logs will be named VSM.2024-02-09.log.

VSM4 displays only the logs stored in the LOGS folder of each module. If these logs are removed from the server, VSM4 will not display any logs.

When encountering a problem, one can navigate to the respective module and access the log. Below is an example of a VSM4 log:

The log shows an error related to invoice generation: 'ERROR: ClientHasInvalidInvoiceData.'

This indicates the necessity to verify if the client profile contains all the required information for invoice generation, including first name, last name, address, city, state, and zip code.

Any missing information could hinder the invoice generation process.

When checking logs in a browser, and if the log files are extensive, one can use CTRL+F to quickly search for specific information within them.

For example, if there's an issue with receiving an OTP code or an email containing a link to activate the account while registering on RCS dialer, one can refer to the EMCD logs:

When having a customer on the line and wanting to check logs live, one can access today's log and refresh it by pressing F5.
