1.12.3 Voipswitch logs Monitoring
Voipswitch application generates logs which are saved to text files. The events that are logged are divided into categories. Their current settings are stored in the voipswitch_logconfig.xml file which is located in voipswitch main directory. When you edit the file you can see xml sections for different log categories with their properties. One of the options is the logging level which determines the amount of information which will be written by voipswitch to the file. Note that keeping all the logs active on the highest levels will add a burden to voipswitch process and affect the CPU consumption. It is therefore recommended to enable only these logs categories with appropriate logging level which are necessary to troubleshoot a particular problem.
When the voipswitch_logconfig.xml file is changed the voipswitch process has to be restarted in order to reload the logging settings. If you want to enable a logger or change its level when the application is running there is another way. Click on the title bar of voipswitch application to see a menu where one of the options is log configuration. Clicking on it opens a new window with logger settings. Note that the changes made will be active until the application is closed. They are not stored in the configuration file.
