1.9.2 Sales

The Sales menu is divided on:

  • Payments
  • Scheduled
  • Charts

The reports include data on:

  • Sales of airtime (calls and SMS),
  • Additional services and products – e.g. DIDs, Intl Mobile Top Up (IMTU), plans and packages etc.
  • Balance top-ups and balance transfers,
  • Scheduled payments – subscriptions

The airtime sales is the revenue generated by clients’ calls and SMSes. Every single chargeable traffic event is deducted from the client balance which makes it a debit type transaction. The sum of airtime revenue and the other debit type transactions (sales of DIDs, plans etc.) is the total spending of a client. This figure plus the actual balance value (what is left on the client account) must agree with the credit type transactions made by the client, i.e. must be offset by client’s payments (top ups).

Payments

The data used in the payment reports are stored in the payments table. The events written to this table have different sources as they may come from different voipswitch applications. In general all the transactions that occur on client accounts are stored. The exceptions are the charges for the traffic related events i.e. calls and SMSes. Their costs even though being reflected in the account balances are treated separately.

We can filtering payments with 2 types of transactions:

  • Debit – shows the payment type (name), e.g. DID purchase. In this column only the debit type payments are shown, i.e. the transactions that deduct money from the client balance
  • Credit – shows the transactions that add money to the client balance

The following fields are available:

  • Type - type of the transaction: prepaid or credit
  • Login – the login of the client who is the transaction’s subject
  • Amount - the monies which are either deducted or added to the client balance
  • Client type - the type of the client who made this transaction
  • Description – detailed description of the transaction
  • Date- the date when this transaction was made
  • Source – the application which executed the transaction, e.g. mobile app, Online Shop etc.

The reports can be filtered by the following criteria:

  • Period
  • Login – narrows the report to payments done by a particular client
  • Client type – shows payments made by clients of a particular type only
  • Payment type – shows debit or credit or all type of transactions

The filtered records can be exported to a csv file - click on the More/Export menu.

Charts

The sales charts provides the following types of reports:

  • Airtime sales
  • Payments

Airtime sales

The data presented in the chart include:

  • Calls revenue – the sum of all amounts deducted from client accounts for calls completed during the interval
  • Cost – the total cost for calls completed during the interval, the costs are calculated according to the cost tariffs assigned to destinations (gateways, registrars)
  • Profit – total revenue minus the total cost
  • Calls – number of completed calls, in the interval
  • Calls revenue per call – an average, calculated as total revenue divided by the number of calls
  • Cost per call – average cost, calculated as total cost divided by number of calls
  • Markup (%) – the profit  divided by the cost
  • Margin (%) – the profit divided by the revenue (selling price)

The data can be grouped by a destination – a route through which the calls were sent.
