1.5.4 CLI Map rule
An additional feature allowing to change the FROM header is available in the VSM Settings/Services/CLI map.
The SIP user part of the SIP URI in the FROM can be modified depending on the dialed number, i.e. on the SIP user part of the address from the TO header.
In the CLI map panel you can create new entries- group of the CLI rules. Each entry can contain many rules describing different modifications.
A rule definition consists of the following fields:
- Input pattern
- CLI
- Display name
The input pattern tells voipswitch which dialed numbers the rule should be applied to. Then, the CLI field defines the modification rules. The rules are same as in other header manipulations described earlier, e.g.: always send - ! or change 00->123 etc.
A CLI map entry can be assigned to a client of retail or UC/PBX type. When the client makes a call and the dialed number matches one of the rules defined in the assigned CLI map, the voipswitch will modify the CLI and/or the display name accordingly.
Example:
Clients (extensions) calling internally within a PBX should be presented with their display names. When they call outside the PBX the display name should be replaced with the main company DID number.
To achieve that you need to create a map for the input pattern matching the outgoing calls format, for example with 1 in front. In the CLI and Display name fields put !4420864444. You can repeat this rules for other input patterns used for making outbound calls.
