3.8.6 CLI - FROM header
The FROM header is composed as in the example below:
From: “44208765444” <sip:44208765444@10.0.0.2>
The display name is the phone number, the user part of the SIP URI is the SIP login. In this example it is a phone number but can be also a service ID or non-generic RCS login.
For ONNET calls the display name can be a username. The called client will always show the Display Name on the user interface. The SIP login is hidden.
In the OFFNET calling PSTN gateways often ignore Display Name and present the SIP URI’s user part as the caller ID. If you allow logins different than phone numbers you will have to make sure they are replaced with Display Name before leaving voipswitch.
