Welcome to the next VoipSwitch tutorial. This time, the guide will help you learn how to efficiently set up an SMS routing plan within the VoipSwitch VSM4 portal.

To get started, please visit your VSM4 portal and log in.

1. Introduction

Enhance your knowledge with this comprehensive resource by following the detailed instructions provided below. This guide will walk you through the crucial steps needed to configure your SMS routing plan effectively. You will discover how to choose the right providers, establish prefixes, and save your routing plan with ease.

Introduction

2. Click "Routing"

To navigate to the SMS ROUTING section, start by clicking on SMS routing in the menu, and then select Routing.

Click 'Routing'

3. Click "Add"

To start the process of adding a new routing plan, simply click the Add button located at the top of the page.

Click 'Add'

4. Click "Prefix"

Click on the PREFIX field and enter your destination number or a more general prefix.

Click 'Prefix'

5. Fill "Prefix"

System will use this field to identify the most suitable matching entry.

Fill 'Prefix'

6. Choose "Route type"

Next, it's essential to choose the most critical setting: the route type. This configuration enables you to determine the destination for messages directed to the specified prefix. Depending on the type you select, a distinct set of configuration fields will be displayed.

Choose 'Route type'

7. Click "Provider"

Choosing the Provider option will route your message to an external SMS provider.

Click 'Provider'

8. Choose "SMS provider"

Choose the most suitable SMS provider for the specified prefix from the available options.

Choose 'SMS provider'

9. Click "Retail client"

The second option available for selection as the route type is "Retail Client."

Click 'Retail client'

10. Fill "Login"

This feature allows you to send direct messages to retail clients who are already registered in the system. Simply begin typing the client's login, and the system will provide suggestions for matching logins, making it easier for you to select the correct one.

Fill 'Login'

11. Click "Priority"

In the following row, you'll see the Priority assigned to the route. A lower number indicates a higher priority.

Click 'Priority'

12. Fill "Priority"

This option operates similarly to the Routing Plan: if an SMS fails to send to the destination with priority 0, the system will automatically attempt to send it using the route with priority 1, and so forth.

Fill 'Priority'

13. Toggle "Do not jump"

You can now toggle the Do not jump setting. By default, this option is disabled (indicated in red).

Toggle 'Do not jump'

14. Toggle "Do not jump"

When you enable this feature (indicated by a green color), it prevents the routing function from switching to the next matching route if an SMS delivery fails.

Toggle 'Do not jump'

15. Choose "Special properties"

Additionally, there are special properties that can be modified. Let's delve into those details.

Choose 'Special properties'

16. Choose "Prefix not allowed"

The first option is Prefix Not Allowed. Select this option if you wish to exclude specific prefixes from the entire routing process. By doing so, the switch will reject any messages directed to numbers that match the specified prefix.

Choose 'Prefix not allowed'

17. Choose "Route disabled"

The second option is Route Disabled. This feature temporarily disables the route, causing the routing function to skip the corresponding entry.

18. Choose "None"

You also have the option to stick with the default setting, 'None.'

Choose 'None'

19. Adjust "Prefixes"

The final row is dedicated to modifying prefixes. Here, you can adjust the Destination Number Prefix, Caller ID prefix, and Tariff Prefix. You can either manually input values into the fields or take advantage of the Prefix Editor to enhance your overall experience. If you're unfamiliar with modifying prefixes, we recommend checking out our dedicated video on the topic.

Adjust 'Prefixes'

20. Click "Save"

Congratulations! You have successfully completed the creation of your SMS routing plan entry. To finalize this process, simply click the SAVE button.

Click 'Save'
