1.4.7 Caller id manipulation
There are few ways on how to change the caller id in the system:
1. Static caller ID
Static caller id can be set directly on the client under the PREFIXES tab.
Remember to put the exclamation mark in front of the caller id e.g., “!123456789” and press save button.
The exclamation mark is required to send a static caller id by the switch.
2. Random caller id
Random caller it works like this that everytime a user makes a call switch is taking randomly a caller id from the defined caller id list and is using it for the call.
Step 1
To setup a random caller id which will be used for the calls go to the Settings→ Core->Tech-prefix values lists and press ADD button and name it e.g. "Random caller id" (low and upper case can be used).
Once done press the save button to create it.
Step 2
Open the created list and go to the values tab and press the add button.
If you want to add a single caller id to the list use the add button.
Use import option to import list of caller id's.
Hint
Inside the import view you will find a sample located in right down corner.
Once the list of caller id's is created it can now be assigned.
Step 3
To assign the random caller id go under the PREFIXES tab under the account details and inside DESTINATION PREFIXES find the "Caller ID prefix" field and press the pencil icon.
From the dropdown rule menu select Random option and from value list dropdown menu select the created list e.g. "Random caler id" and press APPLY.
Tips:
- The list of caller id should always have at least 2 values.
- The system is choosing randomly the caller id from the list hence the list does not have to be in chronological order.
